LET US BE FORWRD LOOKING,,,!

HOW TIME FLIES !!    We are at the Beginning of MARCH already, and so much going on in world all around us - and yet we seem hidden from most of it, in our small and almost insignificant compound.     But, those who know the Lord, are forced to notice that things are changing in our world, and even in friendly, sunny, Kenya.
Much harder to find paid employment, of any kind;  Food available, but not affordable, and the Kenya Shilling dropping in buying power all the time.   Hardship everywhere.
At the same time Education is becoming more expensive, with a NEW Syllabus, touching both the Primary and Secondary School System, forcing parents to find NEW books, and even School equipment, previously unasked for.     Petrol, Electrity AND WATER, all constantly rising in monthly costs.   This is causing considerable need to economise on every hand.
Conversely our School began, last year, to commence MUSIC as a curricular subject, SO many students have risen to the challenge, and parents have remarkably done the same, and have assisted; by  themselves buying instruments of a wide  variety-currently a small Band is being put together with considerable excitement and fervour.
WE NOW HAVE a School of 800 odd, including our own 124 from the Homes. A New Syllalbus was commenced six years ago, our own School chosen to be one those PILOTING.   Previouly we had a System known as 8-4-4-. This has now been replaced with 6-3-3 ( six years in Primary, three years in Junior High, and 3 years in Senior High before going to College or University. This year was our FIRST year to see our 1st year of Junior High commence.   Below is a photo of some of these first timers - ages approx 13

THE SCHOOL, as a whole is growing, but we still have a long way to go acaemically.   One of our BIG problems has been that teachers are looking to be paid WELL!  And they tend to flit from one School to another looking for better terms, and the competition is high.    88% of the funds we collect in School Feels from those learning from outside TFH, go in School Teacher's Salaries.   WE have 44 Teachers spread across the School - 9 in Nursery, 29 in Primary, and 16 in Junior High and High school.

ABOVE, the School is assembling together in front of the School reception area.    The Main morning Assembly, when the whole School comes together, is on a Friday.    The National Flag is raised, and the National Anthem sung.
To the left is a recent photo of Anthony Ngungu, currently Principal of the whole School.   He has been with us since we opened the School in 1985 - 38 years.   We shall miss him when he finally  retires at 67 later at the close of this Term.    He has carried the School and been a faithful and  reliable brother in Christ.    HE will be remaining on the Board of TFH and also as a Trustee.   The School is well estasblished, and respected.    He leaves us knowing he will be well remembered for a very long time to come.

SO HAPPY to see my Esther back to her old self, full of life, and all her strength returning.    The Lord has surely Blessed her over this last long year.     Diagnosed early last March with triple Negative Breast Cancer, she had the tumor removed on 21st, being in hoslpial just two days.   She then had almost nine months of Chemo and two weeks of daily Radiotherapy.    She came through all without any tiresome side effects except for a loss of appetite, and tiredness.       The worst loss for her was her hair, which completely fell away.      The Doctors, and Ongoloogists have all been impressed by her recovery, and we are all so very Thankful to Jesus, and to our Father in Heaven, for restoring her to us all.     She is up and about with me every day, and even now sitting on the veranda with Guests, busey for the Lord in council and fellowship.   This photo was taken by Daryl yesterday at Breakfast.

EVERYWHERE is so dry, there having been no rain for two months.  BUT last night I was awoken by rain on the roof of our house - and a promising shower of about ten minutes.    The morning has dawned cool and full of refreshing scents, as if every living thing, springing from the ground, has woken up to life once more.

All for this time, but more to come.  This is not a time to be QUIET,   But is also NOT wisdom to give in to to SHOUTING.      Leat us seek that ' Still, quiet Voice.!     Love to you all, and Thank you all, that walk and talk with Jesus, and with us.     We are encouraged.   We are fed.   We are Comforted in every way.

John, Esther and Daryl Green
